“Let the little children come to me” Matthew 19:14
Sunday at 11am
Our junior Sunday school meets every Sunday at 11:00am in the church hall. We have welcomed new members and have added an extra class recently. Judith Mclaughlin teaches the reception and P1 children, Catherine Mc Caw and Jane Patrick are sharing the P2 class, Louise Colley the P3/4 children and Rosemary Surgenor the P5/6 class. All the children come together at the beginning for a short opening and chorus singing before splitting into their classes. All the classes follow the ‘Go Teach, Come Learn’ resources. The children are taught about God’s love in a fun interactive way, including bible stories, bible verses, DVD’s, choruses, dramas, catechisms, word searches, quizzes, crafts and simple cooking. At the beginning and end of each term we have an open Sunday school where we all meet together with a chosen theme.
Each month we sponsor two Ugandan children Doreen and Sharif through Rock Ministries, Coleraine. We raised £395 for these children through a recent ‘Beetle Drive’ and the children have been encouraged to collect loose change in ‘smartie boxes’ to support our Ugandan friends. At our next Open Sunday School we hope to make cards and small gifts to send out to Doreen and Sharif. We receive school reports twice yearly and although the children are often unwell, they are doing well at school.
If you have a child of primary school age why not bring them along on a Sunday morning at 11:00am to learn about Jesus? They will be made very welcome.
Children of secondary school age will also be made very welcome at our 21:12 group which meet each Sunday at 11:00am in the McBride room led by John and Julianne Richmond.
