Unite

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,  always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,  because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”  Philippians 1:3-5

Unite is an initiative between the youth ministries of the congregations of Dervock and Ballywatt Presbyterian Churches.  Throughout the year we try to organise a few joint events.  These events included a BBQ and evening of beach games at Portballintrae, and evening of team water games at Dervock car park, a Christmas social at Ballywatt and an evening of Secret Church with Open Doors in the loft outside Dervock Manse.

We had a panel night with Miss Maud Kells MBE of WEC and Daniel McArthur of Ashers bakery.  Both of these Christian people have appeared in our Media a lot over the past year.  Miss Kells was shot by terrorists when working as a nurse in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mr McArthur and his business have been in the courts this year for refusing to endorse gay marriage on their products.  It was both challenging and refreshing to hear both speakers tell their story and challenging us in how we can be rock solid in our faith and our stand for the Lord in public life. We look forward to organising more Unite events together.
